Lately I have gone back to attending the Saturday Night Speaker meeting. I dont attend it often nor regularly and when I am there, its almost always on a Saturday Night when I am bored. Saturday Night boredom is another of the gifts of the program I had received.

If it isn’t football season (thank god college ball is just weeks away!) and neither of my two friends is around to hang out with, then Saturday night choices can get down to TV movies or go to bed early. (I have more than 2 friends. But these friends are the people who would actually call me out of the blue and say “Hey what are you doing now? Wanna come over?”)  You can see where consideration of an AA meeting can come into play in that situation.

In my experience of the last 16 years, at least in the Los Angeles areas, the Saturday Night AA Speaker meeting has always served its local 12 step fellowship as the sober meat market. This is the meeting where the beautiful and not-so-much beautiful come together to hear a sober member of the fellowship share his or her entertaining and inspiring 45 minute pitch of “what it was like, what happened and what it is like now”. Oh, and for most in attendance, they also come in the hopes of finding that special someone who will make it all better. Sometimes “make it all better” is getting laid, sometimes its finding a new boyfriend or girlfriend and for others its finally finding that very special someone you will eventually marry.

I will conceed that there are many in attendance that are strictly there to see friends and hear the speaker’s pitch. Just as in any town tavern, every Saturday night you see the regular set of couples on date night. They are having dinner, chating with friends and they are not there for anything else but to enjoy the night together. But also, just as with your local town tavern, the Saturday Night Speaker meeting is mostly filled with the single people looking for that someone special.

The particual meeting I am showing up at these days is filled with many beautiful people. Not as many gorgeous sober people as I would see at a speaker meeting in Brentwood or other westside Los Angeles meetings, but for the southbay this meeting can hold its head high. There are dozens of gorgeous women and girls at this meeting.

If you like women with big tits wearing small tops this is the meeting for you. Do you like lots of clevage, come to this meeting. If you like nice legs and asses in tight pants or dresses, this is the place to be. Pretty faces your thing? This is your meeting. You like girls with or without tattoes, this is the place.  And women of all ages too. Its not just the 22 year old, size one pants, Double D cup hottie, with the Angelia Jo Lee lips, wearing the 3 ounce top I like at this meeting. Plenty of good looking 30’s ish and 40’s women at this meeting too. 

And plenty of good looking men and boys for the ladies to feast on too. Pretty boys with all the ink and piercings if that’s what you want. Need a distinguished looking man wearing the best cloths from Norstrom’s? aka the 50’s ish rich guy? He’s here too. Like your men to be manly big with his big expensive Harley or your boys to be pretty and hard abs - you have them all here ladies. Of course there are the occasionally fat bald unemployeed guys from Lomita showing up from time to time. But hopefully this wont distract you from your mission of finding the man who can fulfill your dreams (and pay your bills too).

Women/trust issues? Who me? Well maybe. I guess you will have to wait for my posting on that particular topic. Girls on the AA Campus is a fun topic to discuss.  But for now let’s stick to the Saturday Night Speaker meeting topic.

Forced into attending meetings because of the courts or the parents or the spouse or the boss? Then the AA SPEAKER MEETING in the good part of town is the place to get your court cards signed. It might be more convenient to get to a 6pm after work meeting or a 7am before work meeting, but you got a very high ratio of eye sores to eye candy to deal with. But the choice is your’s. This posting is just to inform you about where all the AA people go to find the hotties. If all you want is get the card signed and be gone, those before and after work meetings are likely best.

Are speaker meetings the only places in AA for finding someone to date? No but they are the best bets. The weekend night meeting being the best of speaker meetings and speaker meetings being better than sharing meetings which are better then book study meetings.  Certainly you will find someone attractive at other than speaker meetings. But in addition to having more to choose from at the large speaker meeting, you will also likely find that the person you are seeking is also attending that meeting for the very same reason.

SO what about those other fellowships? A Cocaine Anonymous speaker meeting might be as good as the local AA speaker meeting but in general it isnt. That is mostly due to a matter of number of people going to the meetings, that AA generally has way more people at its meetings. NA meetings? NO. Just put that out of your mind now. Maybe back in the 80’s if you needed your girls with ink you had to go to NA. But in 2006, there is more than enough inked ladies for your pleasure in AA meetings.

So you are saying to yourself, “hey Harry arent you making yourself persona nongratis at this meeting by posting this?”. Funny you should mention that! It is because of my experiences of the last two visits to this particular speaker meeting that has motivated me to write this posting. The topic of speaker meetings has been a thought from the beginning. But what got me to finally do it was last night’s seat stealing move and with a run in with an AA Lackey 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Yes, I know you want to hear what this seat stealing is about and what the heck is an “AA lackey”, but I am hungry for dinner, need a shower and this posting is long enough. I promise I will make a posting all about those two incidents very soon. But for now, let’s say for my faithful readers and those in need of knowledge of AA, I have been of service enough for a Sunday.

PS: speaking of beautiful women who have large tits - ladies might I mention something for you to remember for your next visit to AA? Whether or not you had your breasts enlargened by surgery, if you decide to show off your tits with a small and or tigh top, please try to understand the following: all heterosexual men will be noticing your tits. I realize that you only want the right men to notice you and not the wrong ones. You want the rich ones and or the pretty men to notice you, and when you pick the right top or dress, they do.  But all of us men notice you. It’s not up to us to not notice you. It’s biology pure and simple.  So rather than an obvisously unhidden look of disgust, perhaps the next time you catch an ugly dude looking at your uncovered tits you might bring some human compassion into the moment and just ignore the look?
